Once, I had bank teller pronounce my last name without the "T" (Novoro), assuming it was French. When I corrected him by pronouncing it "Novorot" he proceeded to explain that if I wished to have it pronounced like that, I would have to spell it "Novorott" considering the French language typically doesn't pronounce the final letter in words. He went on to tell me that he majored in French in college, simply loves the culture and would love to travel to Paris one day.
